Digging History Camp 2018

Description

Ages 11-15
In 1995, Gibbs Farm located the original “soddy” site and participated in an archaeological dig with the University of Minnesota. Whether learning about pioneer life in 1849 through this dig, or searching for the Dakota trail that crossed the Gibbs farm, archaeology has played an important role at the Gibbs historic site for years.

Campers will learn about archaeology, participate in hands-on digs at the site and much more. Boys and girls ages 11-13 will discover how archaeology helps determine how people lived long ago by the objects they used.

Bring a bag lunch each day.
An open house will be held on Thursday at 12:30 for campers’ families.
